It's the thing you start to understand on your read no 3 and never FULLY grasp. There have been many MANY instances of time travel and different timeline creation and you know I enjoy overanalyzing stuff that's not even worth it. In Homestuck, there are technically thousands of hundreds of timelines. A timeline is divided into two or more when a person is presented with a choice. Broadwaystuck has probably the best music I've ever heard in my life. I'm not saying "good" as in "amazing vocals". OBVIOUSLY not. That would be too easy and the post would probably be less than 100 words long and that's not what I'm going for. (I'm going to turn this post into 2 parts since it's a lot to talk about) It was a project back in 2012 that had 8 artists working on it. They were all obviously not professionals and actually very inexperienced. A big chunk of the fanbase at that time was very young so I don't think they were particularly aware of what they were doing. I wanted to talk a little bit about why I love all of their work and how the sometimes not great vocals don't matter. I love her design and overall the way the draw her really shows that she has become the main villain of the story. Art in Homestuck^2 is a lot more expressive and colorful than it was back in the original. That's one of the very few compliments I can give it though. Starting off this post with this very unfunny video I made. I strongly believe that her striking resemblance to Nostalgia Critic is not a coincidence. That HAD to be planned. About a year ago I found a fan-made Pokemon Fire Red ROM Hack based entirely off Homestuck. It's not finished yet, I'd say it's about 5-10 hours of gameplay out of Pokemon's 20+ hours. It's still A LOT of fun and it features all the most important characters with all of their forms (baby/grub, regular and God Tier). As of writing this I'm in Lavender Town AKA I don't remember what they renamed it as in Sburbmon so I'm calling it Lavender Town like in regular Pokemon. At the beginning of the game, we get to choose if we want to be a Human or a Troll rather than Boy/Girl. If you pick "human" you're gonna look like this. If you want to choose "troll" you're just going to look like Andrew Hussie in Kanaya cosplay. This one looked better in my opinion. Usually, I love talking about Homestuck but I already wrote 2000 words of analyzing 30 pages and here I am doing another 1000. I have so many other responsibilities and I'm spending all my time on this. Anyways, back to the comic. Page 227 Rose, Kanaya, and Jade come to see John, Vriska, and the kids. At this point I thought they were gonna explain how Yiffy is Jade's dog or something, I didn't have any reasons to expect anything else. I was wrong. I was so so wrong. Before we get into the terrible stuff, I have to talk about the slightly less terrible but still very bad designs for all 3 girls. Rose's hair is so awful, it's like a rat tried to cut her hair, then crawled on her head, lived there for 5 weeks, then died and just stayed there for a while. How lovely 😬 Page 214 In the most epic "I don't give a damn" way, Vriska leaves through the front door to face the paparazzi, Crocker drones, police, probably angry religious people with guns. In theory, just a dumb move on her part, but she had a plan. Honestly, this is the best thing Vriska has done so far in Homestuck^2 and this is one of the reasons I love her so much. She just doesn't care. I didn't want this to include that much art talk from me but I have to say that the colors are so well-balanced and everything looks so amazing and polished. I'd say it's even too good for Homestuck! Just look at page 214 (2009) from the original comic: Homestuck Page 214 It's so nice to see how far they've come (hehe) in the case of panel art. I cannot even attempt to convey how MAD and DISAPPOINTED I am right now. 30 new pages of Homestuck2 came out a few days ago. The first part was cool, I really liked it but HOLY ▇▇ it all went downhill after a while. I'm so revolted I decided to make a whole post about this one 30 page update. Probably going to make it into three, 1000-word parts because it's a lot longer than previous ones. I will also, for the sake of my own comfort be calling the updates "upd8s" because that's how we call new Homestuck pages and I've been using this word for 2 years now.
