Yiffy back at it again | Part 2

I have no idea where I finished off and I'm too lazy to check so I'm just going to guess what I'm supposed to talk about next. This blog is not formal and I never intended it to be. I'm allowed to be lazy here.

Yiffy is obviously very mad. I think anybody would be if they got kidnapped by a dictator lady for no reason.

I'd also like to point out how wretched and vicious Jane looks. I love her design and overall the way the draw her really shows that she has become the main villain of the story. Art in Homestuck^2 is a lot more expressive and colorful than it was back in the original. That's one of the very few compliments I can give it though. The story is still awful in my opinion and if you're asking yourself "Then why are you reading it?" you obviously don't understand what Homestuck is.

GOD she's ugly. Her outfit looks ok, as I already said: the colors are very pretty. But what's with her HAIR?? She's got that Pennywise/Jojo Siwa hairline and its not appealing at ALL.

The saddest part of all of this is that I think her design is the best one out of all Omega kids (get it? Beta kids, alpha kids so these are... omega kids?) and that's saying something. Homestuck^2 has the ability to make their character designs more complex since now they have a full art team working on it and it's not just one person making these in adobe flash (like in 2009).

You'll see that throughout this upd8 Yiffy doesn't speak a single word. Unless you count "growl" and "grrr" and "rawr" as words. It's not a big problem for me that she doesn't talk since she gets like 1 panel for it before Jane successfully silences her. To be honest if I was in her situation I wouldn't want to chit-chat with my kidnapper like it's nothing either.

In short: Yiffy is cool but not that much.

As soon as she sees Yiffy, Jane presses a button that electrocutes her collar.

It makes Yiffy pass out. Jane then gives us more information about how Jade and Rose managed to keep their daughter a secret. It turns out that Jane was in on it all along and that she helped Yiffy get into Ms. Paint's School for Inconvenient Girls ("inconvenient" :| ouch). That's so dumb. I get how Jane would want to help them but now all my speculations from "More about Yiffy" are now being thrown into the mud. There's no way that after this they can become allies. All that's left now is what Jane is planning to do to stop the rebellion and MAYBE "get her son back". She obviously as I said earlier doesn't care about him that much and Earth C politics are the only important thing in her life at this point. She has become as corrupt as one can be, maybe soon she will be able to compare herself to one of the final bosses they had to defeat in the game - Her Imperious Condescension. She is becoming exactly what she thought they have defeated many years ago.

Jane mentions some kind of a ceremony that she is planning "JANE: We don't want you passing out during the ceremony, do we?" That means we have something to look forward to, it will probably be the climax of this rebel arc, some big revelation. Possibly she would hurt Yiffy and wants everybody to see it? At this point I cannot say exactly what this "ceremony" will look like.

Jane leaves Yiffy chained up in her office and the website goes to full-on dark mode (FINALLY.) The gray-white website was hurting my eyes and I have no idea where to find dark mode chrome extensions.

That is the last panel of this upd8. The last few pages are entirely text and nothing else. I mentioned this in the "Yiffy and other things I wish didn't happen" - Are the artists just lazy? Or is it a design choice do differentiate Homestuck^2 from Homestuck? Either way I don't like it.

Finally we get 2 Vrissy conversations: one with Tavros and one with Harry (then a little bit with only the two boys at the end). They are apparently sleeping in the rebellion hideout and they all got the same room together. They're both worried about Vrissy after what they all heard in the last update (the whole Yiffy situation) but she "appears" not to be bothered that much. We all know she's either super sad or super hurt or both. They argue about John for a while and overall their conversations consisted of "I'm tired", "John bad" and  "Tavros is scared".

When Vrissy falls asleep we're left with the last message from Harry to Tavros:

TG: tav?

GG: Yes,,, harry anderson,,,?

TG: what does it feel like to know someone who's died?

I hope the next update will be from the meat timeline. We haven't seen much of Dave, Karkat, and Roxy since JANUARY. I'd love to see more interactions between Karkat and Roxy, or maybe anything with Kanaya. Meat is so much more interesting than Candy and until they completely destroy that timeline it will continue to be my favorite.

Now that I have successfully managed to keep this post under 1000 words (it's 930) I will end it here and go on to writing more Homestuck stuff because it's the only thing actually I'm good at.
